Feb 06, 2019 · Hello, I am trying to setup my own DNS server on my Windows 10 machine which should be accessible to outside networks. I was thinking about softwares like MaraDNS or Bind9 but I am looking at evaluating all my options before going all in on one of them.
My Router is a Huawei E5180s-22 LTE Cube. My system is Windows 10. ipconfig and nslookup both give me "192.168.8.1" as DNS server which is the same as my default gateway. I have taken a look at the router's web interface, and there was no apparent way to determine the DNS server through it. Any help would be appreciated. Jan 02, 2013 · My DNS files are replicated via active directory. I used to be able to find them ages ago in the c:\windows\system32\dns folder. Now, there is only one file in there, cache.dns and it has very little info. I found one other file, netlogin.dns, in the c:\windows\system32\config folder, but it only has some info and not everything.
